you have o have it cronoed, the fps listed are NOT what it will be in real life.... also for a DMR you need to have optics.

the "look like a duck" protocol is in use. If it looks like a DMR, its a DMR, regardless of what it shoots. Same with sniper rifles and the same to be a support weapon.

Post by dave OC-6 on Jan 30, 2012 22:42:18 GMT -5
Ok looks like a duck rule DMR Is full stock / long brl / bipod / optics-sight.
Spt weapon box mag there or capable / bipod / capable of fireing long burst in real world.....like , M16 can be, M4 no.

in other words, if it doesn't look like a DMR, its not a DMR if it doesn't look like a sniper rifle, its not a sniper rifle.
This is done so Admins can tell who has what from a distance and can enforce the rules properly without having to stop everything, ask questions, investigate, chrono people, etc.

firstly, there's already 6 faction. I'm not adding another. secondly, there's no hicaps at any time at this event.
So the short answer to your question is "no."

If anyone is searching for bottlecaps, without having to drink all the drinks, HobbyLobby has packs of bottlecaps you can buy. In different colors, and blank tops.

currently the super mutant faction is already filled up. You may register any other faction and then contact me separately to apply for a standby slot on the super mutants. We'll discuss the details at that time.

Wastlander then. Ive played all the fallout games and i guess wastlanders are just as interesting seeing as they too have no real plan other than to survive!

there is no traveler faction? Check into the rules that are posted. it explains all the factions, the perk system, and the benefits and limitations of each.

you can more or less create your own faction by going "Wastelander" and using the talent point freedom and minor costume freedom to make yourself into something else. Wastelanders have the freedom to lean in any direction they want and it keeps me from having to do a bunch of other factions or guessing what factions to create.

...Which I would assume is how a Merc/Merc team would be created (through wastelanders), so long as they still look relatively like civvies. Right? (There's been discussion between Joebob and I about possibly doing that, but no commitments yet)

there are at least 2 teams that are going "combat wastelander" just for the freedom of going places and doing things... but remaining combat effective.

i'm not ready to bring in any admins yet. When we get closer to game day i'll ask for the signups.
As for Raiders? oh yeah. No order, just chaos. The military factions will shoot at you on site and you can't go to the trade town for anything... but
Complete violence freedom... And of course there's chems... loads and loads of chems.

The complete roleplayer's guide to OP: Aftermath will be released soon. its going to give a complete top to bottom overview of everything this game has to offer, a complete list of whats in the game, how it works, what everything is about. etc.
Obvious goals here are to eliminate all confusion from the game so that everyone who shows up has an opportunity to understand whats going on around them.
Confused players usually screw it up for everyone.

Just to answer/clarify a question:
if you are wanting to form up a "Talon Merc" group or a "Lawbringer" group, then you should register as a wastelander and take the appropriate points and/or wear the appropriate costume/uniform.
Anything that doesn't specifically fit into another faction will basically be a "wastelander." Feel free to get creative. This game doesn't have a ceiling for how many people can be in it, so its unlikely you will show up for the game and your faction be completely closed.
Currently the only faction listed as "full" are the super mutants.

So what about speedloaders? How will looting work in relation to them? My best assumption would be that a certain number of pumps into someone else's tube would happen, but I just want to be sure.

Post by geddon on Mar 10, 2012 19:52:40 GMT -5
Good catch. I may need to amend/update that section. We had covered speedloaders in conversation before. A 90 round speedloader is roughly "half a tube" so judging with your "fullest tube" including speedloaders, you will take on the net difference of your victim.
With tubes its easy. Compare tubes, and if he has more, just swap tubes. With a speedloader, you'll just have him pump all his rounds into a tube and swap tubes.
Speedloader = a tube.
if you use a 470 round magazine style speedloader, you're risking A LOT of ammo. 90 round speedloader is all you need.
You'll probably never have 500 rounds on you at any given time... ever...

just double checked the document... it covers speed loaders in the "Looting Ammunition" section.
