Don't forget to ensure they have an ANSI z87.1 or better impact rating.

Ah ok thanks Bolt, and nice pic. I know I want my eyes more than the realism, but if I could find a pair of DAK (Afrika Corps) glasses and put modern approved lenses in that would be awesome. I guess I'll stick with modern goggles.

you are 15. you need to have full face protection untill you are 18. that is a TASO, Texas, NTA, and field rule.

Hmm, TASO didn't have an age limit on eye protection from their ROE post. But if it's a field rule, I guess I'll be in a paintballers mask..

you are 15. you need to have full face protection untill you are 18. that is a TASO, Texas, NTA, and field rule. Dave, Buckley is correct, it's not on the TASO ROE, CoC, FAQ or immediately findable on the forums. It's been mentioned and suggested for all players regardless of age, but does not mention it being a requirement. TASO does however, explicitly rule on the 6mm gap, ANSI Z87.1 and full sealing issues quite plainly. Texas? As in a state rule/law/ordinance? And of course you, as the field owner have the right to enforce further safety restrictions to your heart's content. I would suggest a sticky post in the appropriate forum that can be referenced quickly and easily by all members to rules enforced on your field. I'd suggest in the "Welcome and Thank You" sub-forum, or for an even clearer eye catcher, a sub-forum under "Mission Statement" called "Rules"

when i said Texas i meant myself and other field owner that have talked to each other. its pretty standard due mainly to legal and insurance reasons.
just to be clear IT IS THE FIELD RULE to have full face cover for minors.
but i am willing to work with people on a case by case issue.

And you define minor as it applies to your field under 18 or under 15?
In my opinion, probably not a good idea. Just make it a hard and fast rule so as to avoid those, "Well how come he can get away with it?" arguments.

HH?
This rule isn't stated on the Op Red Tide postings on here, LSA or TASO sites.
I know this ruling wasn't mentioned for the last OP and had a few of use scrambling for proper eye gear. (Thanks go to TAMASO for assisting us.)
Might prod Spooky to include an update on the OP:RT rules.

no problem, you had questions.
trust me i have to be hard but flexable about the players.
first op we had someone play in shower flip flops. i have to be able to say what people wear on the field and its tough with the glasses, people take them off ALL THE TIME! dave

Spray paint can fix that. Remember, you want to leave the vict...err, wearer to get the most impact from the warning.
