Hello all, My name is Clint Harvey -aka ‘Juba’ I’m really excited to become immersed into the Airsoft culture. After reading every forum I can find on the internet, I have to say that you guys really seem like my type of fellows I want to become friends with. The amount of time energy and effort you guys put into the field, war game scenarios and the airsoft culture is truly above others. I do like to volunteer my help in anything you guys need; I have noticed that you need sand bags filled, etc. Anything I can do to help I will. I did not have the honor or privilege of joining the military and only a few years playing paintball, it will take some time to become effective but I think you guys would help me on that. I’m 41 married for 13 years with a 36 year old wife and two daughters 11 and 6 both are fascinated with airsoft and have a lot of fun playing with my TM HK23 springer. I’m an IT professional and started when I was 12yr, done everything you can think of in the IT world and currently my career path I have settled in the area of threat analysis, encryption and overall network traffic prioritization. I’m not sure if I will make it this weekend but I will definitely show up the following weekend, after I purchase a few guns and well everything…. LOL – such a noob --Juba

Welcome to the community Juba! My 8yr old daughter is quite taken with airsoft and guns in general too! I am 40 and have only been playing airsoft for about 5yrs now. I'm betting that it wouldn't take you too long to get into the swing of things! And yes, this community is more than willing to help you in any way you need. Look forward to meeting you in person!

Welcome to the forum Clint You are spot on with the folks here and at the field. The owner of this forum and store/field is one heck of a nice fella and I would advise you to go check his place out before purchasing your load out as I am 100% positive you wont get a better deal or service anywhere else. He took great care of my two boys 8 & 13 along with myself with our setups. He also took care of a rifle for my girl to use. She is 14 going on 20... lol but loves to play the A.S. game Again welcome to the forum and do yourself and kids a favour & get with Dave before you do anything else. CYA at the field sometime Happy Safe Shooting
Good intro too. Thx

Because Paintball is more mainstream here in the US. Go to Philippines or any other country of the same you will see ALOT more females playing. It appeals to them more cause of the cost, but don't get me wrong i've seen philippine players with guns that cost more than my monthly bills and house payment.

Juba,
It's great to hear that your family is interested as much as you are. With most advice I give to people here is, have friends and family involved it makes the hobby that much more better. And don't worry about the military service part anyways, if anything we are pretending to be soldier anyways. HAHA......and in some cases i pretend to play soldier when im not a soldier =(. But as for paintball, did you play mainly woods/rec or tourny. I played for 13 plus years, with the last 5 in Asia/Pacific. Played rookie all the way up to semi pro/D1 games. Even though I don't play it's still fun to remember it. Last game was World Cup Asia 2007, took 2nd in that one. It got to be a 2nd job, so hence why i'm here in Airsoft. Among other reasons.
But glad to see you have taken a interest in the hobby, welcome and hope you have fun. Don't worry about being effective, you would be surprised just standing out in the open and pointing your replica at another player will have. Enjoy
-Poo
