Are there any recommendations on what a good, beginner gun would be? I've been looking at the JG G36C on AirsoftGI.com and its priced well and has a lot of good reviews. But if there are any suggestions they would be helpfull. Price range of 100-200$.

it depends on what you like. G-36 some people hate them, some love them.
also if you post a link to the product you will get better answers. all the G-36s i searched for were around 275 or higher. if you are looking for a gun i can probably match any price you see and give you better service. just a option.

If you like the M-4 types I have an SRC M-4 sportline for sale. It's from Airsoft GI brand new in the box- battery, charger, hi-cap all for $150. This same gun sells for $170 on Airsoft GI.

I can vouch for JG G36s. They were one of my first AEGs, and the thing was pretty dang reliable.
Theres also a variety of upgrades for the G36 series, so its a pretty good gun to introduce you to the wonderful world of upgrading your gun.

Ya, you should come out to the field just to see what Dave has in stock, and it gives you the chance to hold various guns, and see if one or another feel right for you. One man's treasure is another man's trash and all that...
Also, you can't overlook Dave's ability to take care of you if you run into a problem.... I have been well pleased...

Are there any recommendations on what a good, beginner gun would be? I've been looking at the JG G36C on AirsoftGI.com and its priced well and has a lot of good reviews. But if there are any suggestions they would be helpful. Price range of 100-200$. Well first off is the G36 platform the only one you are looking at? If so, then yes I would say that the JG would be a good way to start, either that or the Echo 1. www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=1974 It's $40 more but it has some minor upgrades to it which is nice, but with that cash you could buy some mags. If you are strapped for cash go JG. I hear great things from both sides regardless. Hope this helps in some way. WACO'S F.A.S.T. NEO

All airsoft guns, for the most part, operatate the same. What you should consider aside from the external features, is the quality and internals. What brand is more reputable, and more reliable. As far as "gun type" it's all what you prefer.
short(compact) / Medium / or long type gun
Battery type = large, mini, dean -- Lipo, NiHM
Ease of maintence -
Durability - metal body, reinforced gearbox, cheap pot metals
Magizine style - If you have some already, or cheapness ex. I use my er25k, they look like reg m4 mag except shorter and fater. My mags are unique to my gun alone, and not many dealers have them on stock or players around. Lucky for me, dave loves me so much he carries them.
Those are just some things to look for. Have fun shopping, that is the best part of it always. Cause no matter what you will always want something else.
