ok i have some raw footage but want to splice them together to make a video. anyone know of a cheap program i can use to do that?

Windows Movie MakerFree and relatively easy to use. I used it to make flight videos back in '05, '06. Was able to cut, trim, splice, etc. Even able to add soundtracks. If you have a computer with XP running on it, the older version of movie maker is much easier to use. Movie Maker was a default program included with XP. Most of the work was done by dragging and dropping and moving sliders about to get the desired result.
