The goal of Operation Miranda is to create an open-world “sand-box” game for the Texian Independent players to fight and role-play life on a future frontier planet, much like the old West.
On the other hand, those players that seek a more-conventional airsoft game can take part in the battle between the two military factions as either the Dust Devils in tan camo or the Alliance in green or black camos. In that role, there will be little to no role-playing for most of the game.
Inspired by the Verse depicted in Firefly and set several decades after the events of Serenity, Operation Miranda allows players to role-play as a new generation of Independents, bravely setting out to resettle the world of Miranda, staking claims and fighting to hold on to key resource centers (mining, manufacturing, agriculture, etc.), acting as free mercenaries or bandits, or to be part of space-faring crews transporting the resources, smuggling goods and taking part in heists. These Independents are caught in the middle of a renewed armed conflict between Dust Devils and the Alliance, fighting a traditional military conflict and seeking to eradicate the opposing force from the planet and support lawful settlers.
Settlers will have the full role-play experience, allowing them to fight, negotiate, barter, lie, cheat and steal as he or she sees fit. Alliance and Dust Devil troops, both believing they represent the side of rightness in the Verse will have limited role-play interaction, as they are grunts expected to follow orders and shoot the bad guys.
