*Scenario*
Year 2032, fossil fuels worldwide are nearly depleted. The two remaining superpowers, the United States of America and Russia, have been battling over the remaining resources. Amidst the chaos Maltese geologists have unearthed a chemical compound never before documented. It is rumored to be 800% more efficient than current products derived from fossil fuels. While potentially beneficial, processing the raw compound has negative side effects. Processing of the raw compound produces a form of radiation which renders communications useless without an amplifier; direct contact with the raw compound inevitably results in death. Word of this discovery has reached both the United States and Russia. With the potential to supersede fossil fuels and various military applications, both superpowers have established bases in Malta. Currently the few remaining Maltese civilians and geologists remain neutral. In an effort to gain the favor of the locals, both superpowers have been dropping care packages randomly throughout Malta. Tension runs rampant as both superpowers fight for supremacy.
