hey so my m16 i got it back up and running but it wont go off of full auto i tried a lot and still wont im just wondering what it is and do i need to take the gearbox apart again thanks

Might be the selector plate, or the selector switch oblong got ground down/broken.

plate is fine on the side idk what the other thing is can u post like diagram or pic

nope thats fine sometimes it will go semi sometimes it goes full auto on semi

Small spring on the tappet plate still there? Is the tappet plate moving freely? Make sure that the oblong piece Joker is talking about is engaging the tappet plate correctly.

You mean selector plate right? The tappet plate is what pulls the air nozzle back and wouldn't cause issues with the selector.

It is it was fine when I first got it but now it does that everything on outside of gearbox is fine

Little springtime on the tappet dish still there? Is the tappet dish shifting freely? Make sure that the rectangular item Snake oil salesman is referring to is interesting the tappet dish properly.

could also be the trigger, its contacts, or the disconnector
