With Operation Stateside coming up Task Force Sparrow has had a lot of requests to host some type of training before the op to help players learn some stuff before the event. Unfortunately this just wasn't possible. We PM'd most of the individuals that asked and the common solution was to begin some type of thread to cover basic tactics and tips. So if you have a question over something milsim related, whether it be tactics, gear, etc. please ask here and we will answer all questions in this thread. We will also be making training videos over certain topics.
The first question we received was "How can you move as a team and complete objectives effectively?"
1) This starts with having a clear chain of command. Everyone needs to be on the same page. If everyone is shouting orders contradicting each other nothing will get done. Put an experianced player in charge.
2) Watch each others backs and work together. Always have a set player watching the teams 6 o'clock. Definitely don't leave each oother behind. Milsim is physically demanding, so help out your squad of physical obstacles arise.
3) Be aggressive. Nothing will get done if you stand around just popping off shots from 150 ft from your target. Suppress, advance, and move towards the objective.
4) Use common tactics. I'm aware this is kind of vague but cross roads one at a time, use bounding overwatch, clear rooms with technique. ***(Videos will be made regarding this topic)
5) Most important in my opinion is communication. Talk a lot. If you need to talk more than you think you need to. Make sure everyone is aware what is going on at all times. Call out targets, let people know when you're reloading, shout out when you're moving, etc. Everyone should also have some type of radio in the event a squad is split up.
If you have more questions please ask. Videos are on the way and should be up after Op Stateside.
