Straight to the point. I was 1-41 Mech Infantry for NATO.
Phase 1: I was put under Headshots command with Mustang 6. We were tasked with a recon mission to flank around the south field and take out an enemy supply point. Clan Reckoning pushed into the town and provided plenty of rear security for us. We got into contact very quick. The brush was so thick it was very difficult to see even 10 ft in front of our positin. 502ndsent a group over to assist us and we pushed up on line and cleared out the thick stuff without to much trouble. We took some casualties once throught the brush and 502nd pulled back to regroup with their squad leaving just myself, Headshot and one other player against about 15 Soviets. We took out 10-12 Soviets and were supported by reinforcements shortly after and captured our original objective.
We recieved a FRAGO to assault the trenches. I took a small squad from Mustang 6 to set up a perimeter on the town with 502nd and UK 16th while Headshots squad pushed into the trenches with 502nd from the south. We took sporadic contact from there on out but not lots of heavy fighting. We eventually captured another flag to end Phase 1.
Phase 2: We switched spawn points and Mustang 6 recieved our FRAGO2 to set up a defensive line in the heavy brush towards the south. We took out enemy mortar positions and set up a line in the field. We took a small amount of enemy fire and traded BBs for a while before providing cover fire and bounding into the town to support 502nd. For the rest of Phase 2 it was basically a town battle for Mustang 6 and 502nd. Game ended. NATO wins.
Lunch break and more uninteresting stuff.
Phase 3: Mustang 6 started out in the south field we had originally taken control of. We received FRAGO3 to hold our POS for 5 mikes and observe soviet movements. This FRAGO ended up totally screwing us over as we were not given any time to get to a good defensive position while soviets were able to move into our AO. UK 16th pushed into the town with 502nd, half of Mustang 6 was tasked with providing security for NATO command, and there were about 10 Soviets with massive amounts of cover pushing up on our 4 man group with little cover. We ended up taking them out but didn't get reinforcements in time to help with the second wave of soviets. They took us out and captured our flag. After respawn I met up with members of Mustang 6 to provide security for NATO command as we passed through an area with heavy civilian activity. We had little issues. NATO and soviets captured flags and I'm not really sure how that game ended honestly.
Phase 4 (Night Game): I switched to admin to help out Dave. Long story short I must have pissed off some soviets during the main op because I got shot 9 times even though I was clearly designated as admin with a bright blue light over my head. Fun times though. Great watching the night game and how scared people get when BBs go by from people they can't see.
Overall great op. I was a little worried about how it would turn out as this was Daves most expensive game but it was well worth the price in my opinion. I had a blast. Thank you Dave and all the players and sponsors that showed up.
