1/15/2013 GNN news UN forces from Saudi Arabia were briefly spotted along the central front today surveying the disposition of NATO and soviet forces today. the lul in the battle has allowed UN and red cross workers to check on civilians and hand out food and blankets. the break in major fighting has not stopped artillery duels and the cross border raids of small units. the UN secretary general has had high hopes that a cease fire can be implemented along the front even with UN convoys coming under soviet and NATO fire as they insert themselves in the no mans land.
WWN news reports from occupied ukr have placed the artillery strike from NATO forces at nearly 300 dead and 500 wounded. this comes from official soviet agency and may or may not be true. the dead include a football team and hit a non military target (teddy bear factory). civilians outraged by NATOs apparent random shelling has resulted in thousands of civilians joining UKR civil defence forces to help with first aid and security. NONE of the UKRCDF units would EVER be used at the front, reported by NKVD officals.
JEFFS DEFENCE WEEKLY UKRCDF units have been seen being issued gear from former UKR army stockpiles. weapons, ammo, and basic gear (boots, belts, etc). it seems that there is a limited amount of equipment for use by UKRCDF. at least 12 battalion sized formations have been seen operating along the central front in violation of the Geneva convention and current UN and red cross guidelines.
