Rabits Risk VII AAR

So for those who weren't there this Risk was slightly different than the others. There were only 4 teams instead of 5, respawn was at your colored flags, and it lasted ALL day instead of several rounds. I was CO for blue team. It was 5 Tx-Com guys including myself and about 9 first time players. So honestly I didn't have much hope in us winning. We broke into squads and the first timers immediately got confused. Guns went down, they didn't know where to go, there was some friendly fire, but hey, it's a learning experiance so no biggie. Myself and 2 teammates captured 2 flags and took out a few enemies while squad 2 captured another flag. We got taken out and all of our flags got taken but one. We all fell back and were surrounded by all 3 teams. I made a deal with Clan Reckoning and let red team capture our final flag while we provided security. Blue team was now a part of Red team. We broke for lunch several minutes later.

We came back from lunch and resumed the game. Tx-Com took up the left side and captured a few flags and established a firing line for Clan Reckoning. Due to poor judgement and lack of communication by me we actually captured TO MANY flags and kind of ruined CRs original plan. My bad guys. The game got a little more confusing due to an oddly placed flag that I didn't account for. Clan Reckoning focused on the trenches and Tx-Com focused on taking the previously mentioned flag. We battled back and forth with black team for a while but we eventually captured it leaving just the trenches. Not long after Red team obsorbed Green and it was now Red/Blue/Green vs. Black. Out numbered black eventually fell and Red was the winner.

Congrats to Red on the win and good job Black for holding out so long. Thanks Clan Reckoning for taking us over first. I always enjoy fighting alongside you guys. Thanks for hosting Dave. Can't wait for the next one.

Haha I had certain reasons why I didn't want to be on black team that I will not disclose on a public thread. Maybe if black would have given up you could have been victorious with Red.

To make it clear on one account - We (Red) had been assaulting Blue's flags and had taken two out of three. As we assaulted the last flag, Hatch and I made it to about 50-70 feet from the flag as we bore down on two younger players, when we heard someone from Blue yelling "Just let them take it" (Paraphrased as I don't recall the exact wording). Hatch and I had positioned ourselves behind the ammo cart/trailer about 6 feet off from the flag. We thought it was odd at the time to hear the call out from Blue. No members of CR were apart of any off-field/back room deals here. This seemed to transpire organically.

On the second item - Hats off to Rabit and Headshot for getting their squad up to speed with our game plan, organized and mobile. We put some critical missions in their hands they executed and accomplished those objectives. (Some of which they overachieved, but it's all good!)

To clear things up there was no before game deal between blue and red. It was just a matter of me knowing we were not going to ennd up holding that flag and red team just happened to be closest. I made the call to pull my guys back and let red take our flag.
