Yeah, I don't think they are illegal, I just think that the demand here is very low, especially in comparison to the work to get it stateside (In quantity)(Edit: Reasons being that they are all plastic, not recommended to run on Green Gas, and the trademarks are a problem with U.S. customs.) If you can get this, I'd be interested if you could get the TM Five-seveN.

No, TM is made for a Japanese market. They are recommended for Duster Gas, to lower the energy output to be under 1 joule (Approximately 350 FPS with .2) (A law on Japanese airsoft guns restrict this.). Similar laws prevent them from being metal (At least on the outside.)
Also note when I say recommended for Duster Gas, they have been designed recently to hold up to Green Gas, to increase sales in countries other than Japan.
Also, they are known to be made of Sturdy plastic, not like walmart AEGs. A common upgrade is a metal slide, if your original plastic slide breaks (Due to the higher pressures of Green Gas)

my TM DE takes green gas just fine, mine came straight from Japan. I've had no problems the last 6 years i've had it. TM makes great quality products.

...It's because of the plastic slide it has a hard kick.
Plastic is lighter than metal to move.
Same thing goes with those new G&G GBBRs, they're all plastic and feel like they're going to break when you charge them, and have the kick of a .22

I thought that even though the metal would be harder to move, it would hit harder on the kick. So plastic gbb kick harder than metal ones?
