Get price quotes on the mags as well, they are propriety and you will not be able to swap/borrow with your buddies using M4's.

With a SCAR-H you'll pay over $25 a pop for midcap magazines, the only cheaper ones are the Dboy/Echo1 clone hi cap mags, which suck. I have 4 PTS Pmags for my SCAR-H and I can't bring myself to buy more. It's a sad day when PTS Pmags are the cheapest midcaps available. Oh, Pmags in a VFC SCAR-H will require a bit of dremelling inside the magwell.

If i was able to get a SCAR-L's lower and attached it to the upper receiver of the SSR would it be compatible with m4 mags? I'm pretty sure the answer is no but just double checking with you guys.

Absolutely not - upper and lowers of a MK16 (L) and MK17 (H) are not compatible. For instance, the nosel on the MK17 (H) is longer than a typical v2 you would find in an MK16 (L).

I'm looking at the SSR specifically, would that include the MK17?

A SSR is simply a variant of the MK17 (H). If Dave can get a MK17 (H), he more than likely can get ahold of the SSR variant.

I've seen a few VFC MK17 SSR's floating around the BST section of airsoftforum lately, you could look there.
