I'd like to start by apologizing to all of the German forces for abandoning II PZ Corps and the rest of the Germans. I definitely didn't want to leave but I would rather pass on my command to someone else then get sick on the field (for those who didn't know I'm home sick and I left early) and put a hault to the entire operation.
Arrival: I arrived at 8 and was the 3rd person there. I signed in and started gearing up like everyone else. I was rather pleased on how pretty much everyone arrived on time which for some reason never happens at the ops I go to.
Safety briefing: Safety briefing went by quick as well as chrono which I like. It gives us more time to play.
Game prep: I was commander of II PZ Corps. We met up with 6th ABN who had a new commander (thanks for stepping up Elf) and we began formulating a plan for all of our forces. After that the issues started.First off the combat photographer that Tx-Com hired to follow us around for the day and get pictures and video didn't even show up or even call me to tellus he couldn't make it! The vehicle we were supposed to be using wouldn't start. I'm aware this wasn't Dave's fault since we were driving it around about an hour earlier but it still sucked. After that we began walking to our start point since we couldn't use the vehicle and we heard the starting whistle. I found this rather unfair considering we were not even out of the safe zone yet and it completely ruined our plans to defend the town like we told Elf we would. Which brings me to my first and really only a complaint. I would suggest admins make sure all forces are in their set start positions before start because it pretty much made it incredibly easy for 101st to take control of the town. But anyways, we began trading BBs with 101st in the town who I believe was the group from Houston. I would like to take a moment to say thank you to them. They were great sports as well as a very good example to newer players on how to work as a team so good job guys! I picked up a few kills before our squad got overrun and pushed back to the edge of town. We held them back for maybe another 15 minutes until I made the call for withdraw into the hedgerows. The rest of our guys went to link up with 6th ABN to help them while Colt and I stayed in the trenches. He got taken out and I stayed by myself and racked up about 6 kills. This is when I started feeling sick and decided to head back to my car. I didn't feel any better so I ended up leaving and asking Mugen to take my spot.
While I only got in about an hour of play it was still a great hour. Thanks to everyone who went, thanks guys on 6th ABN and II PZ Corps, thank yous to my Tx-Com guys for representing yourselves well and rolling through the early confusion with a positive attitude, and thank you Dave for hosting the op.
