Arrival: We got there early talked to some people and annoyed Dave. I made a trade with ARMYsierra23 for an M249. Everyone started arriving on time and we started safety briefing. Game 1: We started slightly later than I thought. Teams were divided and we moved to the new area of hedgerows. I picked up 3 kills in this round and died twice. I got this round on video and it only lasted 5 minutes and 34 seconds... So we basically got owned in game 1 lol. Game 2: We switched sides and actually had time to make a game plan. I took my squad right and squad 2 pushed left. Right side held out for a little while but left side ended up getting taken out leaving myself, Roadrunner, and pocket size (AKA Grayson) holding out in a small trench next to our fort. I got 4 kills but eventually we were overtaken and lost. Game 3: We moved into the town for an attack/defend GW. My team was defending against the multiglam saud who had to plant a bomb. We held out for some time and I got 2 more kills before everyone started getting confused for reasons that I'm still confused about so Dave called the game. All in all it was a great day but there were some things I noticed that I think should be worked out. #1 TEAMS: From what myself and several other players noticed teams were very uneven today. It was a squad of unregular players against a squad of very experinaced regulars. I'm all up for a challenge but I think if we want new players to WANT to come back teams should be evened out and picked fairly just like say a elementary kickball game. I think everyone can agree it just makes it more fun. #2 GAME START: When it is stated on the forum that games will start at "set time" I think they should start at "set time". I understand that sometimes games may start late due to complications but I've noticed at several games recently games have been starting late just because everyone sits around. I'm a high schooler on a tight budget driving an hour to get to the field. I'd like to get as much games in as possible when I come out. I definitaly had fun and love going to Daves field but these are just things I've noticed at the last few skirmishes. Thanks to everyone who came and thanks to Dave for letting us come out. Hope to shoot with everyone again soon. I'll post my videos once I finish them. Rabit Tx-Com Milsim

FINALLY made to my first night game, and it was a blast! During the day games I was having problems with my AEG feeding properly and had to go to my pistol a few times. Finally figured something to do to get it to feed! The night really changed the way you have to move on the field, I think Ghost make the greatest use of that! But Pony did great too They each successfully bombed the Golden Weasel! I enjoyed meeting and playing with some new faces today,(as well as old ones ) and look forward to doing it again!

Thanks for letting me use your SCAR, Caliban. I think the teams looked stacked against us, but it ended up being pretty equal, even with the less experienced team getting less respawns (Due to us have more people.)

Yea I felt the teams were very even as far as skill level went - it was 8 of us vs 5 active duty military guys, and they got 3 respawns while we got 1, so it worked out in the end.
The night game was crazy fun, and completely changed how you move through the town. I also learned that it's MUCH harder to hear someone moving through the grass/shrubs/almost-trees growing there than I originally thought!

Five active duty and one diamondback for the first half to be exact ;D

The day game was 7 players (2 regulars, 5 others) against 6 (5 active duty, 1 Diamondback). It was just a matter of people with much more airsoft and tactics experiance. We did good in the Golden Weasel game but got run over in the hedgerows games. And it's been like that several skirmishes in a row. I'm not so upset about it but I heard some players who don't come so much yesterday saying that they didn't even wanna play if teams weren't going to be decided fairly, which kind of sucks if people don't even wanna come to play.

ok im not going to harp on this too much, if you dont feel that the teams are fair then please comt to mee off line and tell me durring the day. i can fix that, also for the weaker team i can ballance it via respawns or other ways. you left early but if you had stuck around you would have found out that after the night phase started the "weaker " team dominated for the most part.
also the team you say was weaker had more respawns / people / weapons (the other team had at least 1 weapon go down) / and commo. the other side didnt. and for the night phase the weaker team picked up 2 more players 6 vs 9.
again if you have a problem please just come and talk to be and i can look at the teams... remember i didnt pick them the team cpts did.
but thanks for your imput. dave

If you want the teams to be split evenly you need to speak up. Leadership roles need to step up. Sure I don't step up as leadership because I already have to deal with that in the real world. Never once since I have returned from my deployment have I seen two team captains pick from the pool of players that show up. Teams form silently and no one says anything about it. So if you want the teams to change SAY SOMETHING. Don't sit back and go with the flow.

Thought I would chime in since I was team captain of the "militia" , so to speak, and Ghost was the regulars's team capt. All in all I liked the way the teams formed and I had a hand in that. I thought the multi-cams shold stick together for no other reason than it would be easier to id them in battle. Misenard and I fretted over some sort of IFF for night games since Ghost's very sneaky and effective penetration of our GW defense was to walk backward into the GW pretending to be one of us. But, the night game really did even with out both sides using good tactics. Leadership is a challenge and one of them is forming and working within a team. I didn't think we were a B squad by and would shoot with the same guys anytime. Conversely, next time, if given the chance, I will choose a regular or two because I can learn from them (and not get shot by them!)
That is all.

Personally I enjoy being on the weaker team - I learn best by losing. Or to put it in a more positive way - I learn through hardship, by being in situations where things didn't go as planned, because during and after I think "well that didn't work, why not?" and try to puzzle out what went wrong, or what could have done better. And when in a friendly environment such as this, I will usually ask the other team "what did we do wrong, how were you able to do xyz or where were the holes you exploited?" I get the most joy out of improving and learning, not just from winning on the scoreboard That's why I play Green so much - the active duty guys usually pick tan Besides, when you WIN against the odds, it's all the sweeter Having said all that, I was very grateful to have Headshot on the team so I could bounce ideas off him and get his input, and learn from him. Plus he's just a cool guy!
