We seem to have a lot of 'mech fans on the forum! I'm really looking forward to Mechwarrior Online. I signed up on their site under my old Mechwarrior callsign "Wavelength". I started with "Battletech" on my Sega Genesis, then had all titles from MW2-MW4(with expansions), even Mechassault2 for Xbox. Nothing beats the imersive experience of the Tesla pods though! Painted and detailed some original Battletech minis. Never played it, but did play the Wizkids version (still got a LOT of them) used them to teach some cool 3rd grade math lessons My faction of choice was the Northwind Highlanders, even got a dropship! Got enough for several people to play

I started with the Battletech table top box set. Eventually got the CityTech and AeroTech sets as well. I even played that horrible BattleForce box set. Played the original Mechwarrior on IBM AT/XT. Cresent Hawk series after that, Mechwarrior 2 / MW:Mercenaries and all expansions. Mech Commander and Mech Commander 2, Vetran Pilot 100+ missions in Walnut Creek's Virtual World (Which I still can't get over considering it was $12 a mission)
When FASA Sold the franchise to Microsoft... thats when I pretty much lost intrest.
I did a short run with the Wizkids click based game, and like Caliban I have a box of them sitting around somewhere. I even bought into the Battletech Collectible Card game, which was HORRIBLE.
I even suffered through the BattleTech Cartoon week after week on Saturday mornings...
Still on the fence about MW:Online ... I am fully onboard with MWTactics however. I appretiate their throw back to the table top game. If you guys haven't already heard, sign up on there forums by May 22 to get your Closed Beta Key.

Twilight 2000? Wasn't that the pen & paper modern (circa '80s) warfare role playing game? I think I was in a game or two of that... GM kept calling for "weapon checks" and I seemed to fail them all resulting in a "Jam"... Or am I mistaken, It was a long time ago.

yes that was it, sounds like you had a jerk for a DM/GM they had a sad video game... if they relaunched the video game i would play it. it was one of the first real FPS milsim game.
the paper game was like D&D for the cold war.

Oooooh, micro armour. I still have some floating around in a box somewhere. I have an M1A1, M88 and M577 sitting on my desk. I used to use a HEMMET for a monopoly piece.
Got a bunch of WW2 pieces too.

A Northwind Highlanders kit? Nice.
If you can find a suitable helmet, LET ME KNOW.

You know... the paintballers did a mechwarrior game People built "mechs" that had working pieces... looked legit! was a full scale ground war with wheeled vehicles + mechs I've always wanted to top it the interview on PBLiveTV www.youtube.com/watch?v=zA-qXVxYtmcSadly, the website with all the amazing photos and some videos of it walking are all gone
