I learned tonight from my old Sgt. that an old friend of mine had committed suicide. We were patrol partners in the New Mexico State Police and on the Tactical Team together for two years. One night we had a hostage rescue mission in Santa Rosa, NM. My friend Mike was on point and breached the door. I was second man in. We saved a little girls life that night. After retirement we drifted apart. I settled in Round Rock and Mike opened a martial arts school in Albuquerque. We kept in touch on Facebook but not often. I don't know why this happened and I have seen a lot of it over the years. For those of you who have stormed Hell's gate and lived to tell the tale it would be a good idea to call those guys who went in with you. I'm just sayin...

Thanks T, it seems to happen more often in my profession than others. I have faith in Christ and had shared that with my friend many, many years ago. Still, the news of a suicide is always bad.
