Once me and my teammate Roadrunner heard Kangaroo Down was postponed we were bummed out but hey, we're not gonna let some rain keep us from going out to the field. We packed up all of our stuff to drive to the field.
Arrival: We arrived slightly early. (we were this first ones) so we went to pick up some batteries at a nearby gas station and then came back to the field to find a good amount of people there already which is always a good thing.
Chrono/sign in: It was a free game so there wasn't much of a sign in today but as usual everyone wanted to check out Daves awesome store. Safety briefing went rather quick which was nice but we ended up starting about an hour late which was no biggie really.I met up with Spanky and he let me borrow his awesome KWA for most of the day.
Game 1: Game one didn't go so smooth. Roadrunner and I rolled with the awesome CSTAT guys. The issue was that there were ACUs on both teams and arm bands were not clearly visible which resulted in friendly fire on most everyones part. (My bad Squirrel Master) Another issue was the fact that we thought we were looking for a frog the entire time since no one informed us the rules had changed. We spent most of our time looking through buildings for nothing. I got 4 kills and died twice. Game 1 Armbands win.
Game 2: Game 2 went a lot better with teams now clearly marked. I started getting a lot more kills and we worked better as a team. I got an epic safety kill ON CAMERA. (BSJ that better be in the video
) I got about five more kills and then an oppossing player shot the hell out of my genitals so I sat out the rest of that round lol.
Lunch break: Got to chat with some guys I hadn't met before like Gadget, Big sexy Jonathan about a youtube shoutout, and several other cool guys. Lunch break was shorter than normal which I actually liked.
Game 3: We headed over to hedgerows and I got out my Classic Army M4. I shot about 5 rounds and my battery died. I got out my pistol and Roadrunner threw me his and I ended up getting 3 kills with those and 1 safety kill. Spanky was out of the game so he handed me his KWA and I got about 3 more kills and then got out.
All in all it was a good day. Not only was it FREE but I met some cool new players, got in some trigger time, and Opfor was a force to be reckoned with. Thanks to everyone who came out and especially thanks to Dave.
