So I've wondered, in the past, what is the best nighttime camoflage? My first thought is "black, duh" like most people, but this is wrong. I've been told by Dave, and many others, that black makes you stand out.
So I got to thinking "why?" (I like to think, consider, and ponder questions whenever I'm not doing anything, such as driving where I just have music and an open road to think
)
And I've finally come up with a clear and concise answer!
What is the goal of camoflage? To help you blend in to your surroundings. So, if you take this logic, and apply it to night time, what would you want to wear? Something that makes you blend in to your surroundings. How do you do that? You wear whatever color your surroundings are! The "darkening" or lack of light, is already being provided by the ... lack of light ... so when you wear what your surroundings are, you're wearing the same color as them, but just as dark as them, because of the lack of light. Go figure.
So to sum it up in a clear and concise phrase (which is always my goal when pondering), I say: Wear what's around you, and let the night handle the darkening (if that's a word).
