Hey,
My name is Cody I Just got to Ft Hood and am looking for good information on the local airsoft community. I browsed around the site and found it to be a little unorganized. I saw the field in temple but was not 100% on the name of it. ?? Is there a cost to play there? Is there any other field or public land around here that allows airsoft games?? Is there anywhere on base that allows airsoft? Roughly how many people are in the Ft Hood airsoft community?? I did not find any Airsoft shops in the area on google, Is that correct? does anyone out there play airsoft with... well less restrictions. The FPS limits on the temple field website seem very low to me.
Thank you for your time and I am looking forward to see you guys out there.

Nice to have you The field is called kookabarra airsoft field, it cost $20, There are a few other fields around TX, I',m not sure if there is one in fort hood. There are alot of people from fort hood that I know of. The field has a airsoft shop and it is freaking amazing Most airsoft AEGs only shoot 400 fps. The FPS limit shown is the max, If it goes a little over you will have a farther distance to shoot. Such as 30 or 40 Feet instead of 20. Best and safest airsoft field in TX I think. Come on down and play, its alot of fun This Saturday this is an op, Kangaroo down. Hope to see you there

Thank for the info. yeah... 400 IS very low when you build all of your own guns. but I suppose and i down grade em'
$20 is pretty steep for just one day of play but i, again, suppose i can stop by a few times to see what you guys have going on.
I'd still like to know the size of the community around Ft. Hood. and if there are any military airsofters out there id still really like to know if airsofting is allowed on base.

400 FPS is the state standard, any more it had better be a DMR or sniper,
do not try to play on ft hood!!!!! you are looking at a art 15 and your guns being taken if so.
20.00 a day, full day. the next closet field is about 75 miles away at TX Paint ball, other than that about 2 1/2 hr drive. in Dallas or by San Antonio.
for 20 we play from 10-1030 till about 4pm.... that's 5hrs of play for 20.00, most one day operations around here go for 60.00 to 200.00 for john Lu games.
temple airsoft is the largest airsoft only field for about 350 miles.
military airsofters is about 20-30, with more being added due to the war winding down.
where are you coming from?

My mom pays $20 for me to 1. Get off the xbox. 2. Have fun. And 3. get a workout. Best deal in the world.

Okay.. well No playing on base for sure then. Looks like ill be dumbing down these guns to 400ish. $20 sounds better than a 75 mile drive. and I am coming from korea, but didnt do any airsofting there... I was big in to airsoft for about 10 years in Las Vegas and FPS limits and Regs were few and far between out there so I will just have to adjust. Which is fine.
So i am seeing weekly to bi-monthly games at the field. Is that right?

ok, i picked up airsoft at camp hovey, did it in the motor pool and at the hovey cut, between hovey and casey.
welcome to the new world of lawsuits and waivers, all the fields use FPS rules.. starting right now most fields are going full lower face protetction and brl bags in temple. most of the fields will follow in the next few months. this is going nation wide this year.
see ya dave

Korea has large games just have to know where to go. Also 2nd everything Dave has said. 254 used to be a giant paintball community but has since died down over last 7 years. Texas in general is bigger on paintball still, with airsoft being more of a 2nd class citizen if you think about it.

Nothing against other feilds but this field as well as almost all feilds in the US have about the same FPS and safety reasons for just that. Safety! If youre looking for a field with less restrictions the chances of someone getting hurt is much higher. So come on ot to the field and I'm sure youll have a blast as well as stay safe.
