If you are unsure about the complex roleplay elements present in this event, look no further than the Enclave (green) or Brotherhood of Steel (Tan) factions.
Both of these factions are running a regular military campaign that allows the roleplay portions of the game to be far more optional than if you participate as a trader, a wastelander, or a raider.
Brotherhood of Steel's campaign focuses greatly on the salvage and preservation of technology. It is at war with the Enclave, who admittedly has better weapons tech than the Brotherhood. You will engage in many battles with them as well as other factions who oppose your quest to recover the lost technological treasures of the human race.
Enclave's campaign can best be described as an occupation. It will attempt to occupy and control any and all territories on the map. It will drive out any impurities in the human race, such as mutations, criminals, and traitors. The Enclave is at war with the Brotherhood of Steel and will attempt to engage them at any opportunity and drive them off the map. It will attempt to maintain control and enforce its laws and taxes upon the people of the wasteland to "restore order" to a broken land.
There has never been an event with such an unprecedented amount of backdrop as this one. Completely autonomous indigenous factions to oppress, exploit, or befriend in REAL situations that will affect your campaign. Rather than petty "warcrime" points deductions, you will face real consequences for killing civilians such as uprisings, denial of supplies, denial of use of lands, etc.
For all the regular airsofters out there, this is still a 'must attend' event!
