Actually, as long as you don't have a badge, and you don't take advantage of looking like a cop (impersonate), its perfectly legal to wear. Although if you go walking down the street, you'll be legal until someone thinks your a cop and thus "impersonate". So on the field, you should be safe, off the field is where it gets iffy, and risky.
