Upon hearing about risk I knew I had to go. I went to the last risk game and had a blast so I brought a teammate (Tank).
Arrival: We arrived around 9:00 and chatted with Dave and some other players that were also there. We began to gear up and test all of our guns and thats when most people began to arrive.
Chrono/Sign in/Safety briefing: I was glad to see Dave change up the chrono station. I never really had a problem with the other chronoing system but I know some did and I think nw that Dave took others opinions into consideration really shows how he wants to try and please everyone to build the community. None of my guns were chronoing hot so I was given zip ties for all 3 to put around the trigger gaurd. I proceeded to go to check in and I was then given a zip tie to put on my gear to varify I had paid. We started the safety briefing a little late but as with most larger games it is expected. We then split into teams and I was very pleased with mine as it was everyone who had originally been placed on my team in the forum sign up.
Game 1: Game one started a little rocky for me. I got my first kill within 30 seconds of game on and took one flag. While this may not sound like a rocky start let me say that after that first kill my $600 custom M4 decided to stop shooting. I tried all my batteries and it just wouldn't work so I went back to respawn to grab my M14 EBR. I went back into the game and met up with Mr. Poo. We started capturing flags fairly fast and racking up the kills. I earned 15 kills in the first game with my M14 EBR and I captured 3 flags. The highlight of my day was in Game 1 when Poo covered me to assault contacts in the tower and I got a triple kill with a grenade.
Lunch break: Lunch went well. Great food prepared by Dave. I got to chat with the guys on my team and met some players I never had before. I also took the time to fix my M4. I still don't know exactly what was wrong but I did get it firing again.
Game 2: Game 2 seemed to go a little better for my team as we stayed together better and had less casualties. I ended up capturing 2 more flags and getting 10 kills with my M4. There weren't many over the top exciting moments in game 2 for me. My ankle started bothering me due to the fact I've sprained it 7 times and broken it twice in various sports so I sat out and hung out with Dave and Squirrel Master in the tower. We watched a player get a mouth full of dirt and he went on to win the beans award.
End game: Everyone went back to the store and hung out and purchased stuff. Dave raffled off some guns which I did not win but congratulations to those who did. All in all Tank and I had a great day. Great weather, great players, and it was an absolute blast.
Thank you Dave,
