What are glow sticks used for in night time operations? I've read where Dave has required them but I don't know what for

they are in case your silly butt ends up lost and you can mark yourself so a rescue party can find your dead body 2 weeks latter.
it happens with stupid hunters on ft hood.

Oh. K. I was tryin to figure out of it was used for teammate recognition but couldn't figure out how you wouldn't get spotted by the opposition

Also, its not just required by Dave to get in, MSE will turn you away if you dont have one.

They are required for the dark buildings...Walking around with a dead rag in very low-light conditions (or complete darkness) does no-one any good. This is why a glowstick is used. This signifies that you have been KIA and hopefully wont be shot to hell by OPFOR..or even your own forces when traversing dark buildings.
