We (College Station Tactical Airsoft Team) had a great time. Well worth the drive. We will be coming back up there again. Looking forward to playing with the Blood Sucker Brigade again.

Thanks to Spetz and Dave for putting this thing together for everyone! The OP was great fun and we will be looking forward to playing another one of Spetz games! The spawn point issue was the only thing that was a lil confusing but overall no complaint! Looking foward to playing with the C.S.T.A.T guys again, it was great fun to get to sling some bbs at the guys from Clan Reckoning , always a pleasure to play with you guys! I cant believe we (green team) pulled that win out of our ass! Best of luck with the raffle and the benefit!

Shattered Skies AAR.
After a quick 90 minute drive from the Metroplex, our core Republic of Georgia team (me, Cormac, his friend Coleslawter and Eric aka techt12 arrived at Kookabura Hill Field (KHF) in Temple at about 0815 am. The check-in, registration and chrono process went quickly, leaving adequate time to prepare gear. Also, the organizers insistence on strict uniform standards made it easy to identify teammates and introduce ourselves to the allied teams, as well as shunning the godless communists from the onset.
As the original tan and green command staff did not arrive, the game organizer Spetz was looking to fill the CO and XO positions and asked me. As Georgian CO, I volunteered to be the Tan XO and help Spetz volunteer someone to fill the CO position. We were extremely successful in that objective; getting L.T. to step forward even though in his own words “I really wanted to be a private today.” L.T. is an active duty lieutenant serving at Fort Hood, a frequent player at KHF, and ferocious opponent on the Airsoft field (as I knew from a skirmish several weeks earlier). Green selected their special forces team to act as CO and XO, respectively, Sarge and JD Sniper.
After a thorough safety briefing (lightened by Dave’s unique sense of humor) and a clear, concise briefing on objectives by Spetz, the teams split up. Tan sandboxed the field behind the main building and outlined the objectives. L.T. laid out a simple plan with an initial thrust against the closest objective to our starting point, which was artillery post. It was also the nearest position to the green respawn; nonetheless, our Marines and Army squads quickly rolled over the Green defense using bounding overwatch under L.T.’s direction.
According to Cody Paulson, he killed me for his first ever Airsoft kill at that point, so I’m glad to have made his day. But as a support gunner my job was to keep their heads down and draw fire, allowing the rest of the team to flank and eventually occupy the artillery post. By running to and from the spawn point, I was there to raise the American flag. Ten minutes later, I looked back and realized it was upside down, but what can you expect from indigenous force commanders?
From that starting point, our American Multicam Army and Marine forces took the east approach to the town, while the American ACU Army squad (the College Station Tactical Airsoft Team) moved to the north and captured the Hedgerow flag and moved through the hedgerows to put pressure on the north side of the village and the approach to the trenches. On the west side of the town and in the surrounding vegetation, we encountered the infamous Wookie Sniper aka Colin of the green team. Usually, snipers are the fifth wheel of an airsoft squad, but this guy made himself known, although rarely seen until too late.
While at respawn, L.T. and I received a team put a call for grenades at the trenches and we went. Our first grenade fell short, but then one of the ACU team and I charged, only to have the grenade blow up in his hand (think it was a freakish BB hit to the pin holding the spoon as that was twisted). While we were charging and dying, another team managed to work themselves into position for a successful assualt on the Trench flag.
Throughout this time, radio communications remained excellent and L.T. then directed a coordinated push on the Town from three sides. After intense fighting in the Town, with a superb showing by our American and ally forces, the Russian forces were pushed into the field. Some great CQB action during this portion, but ultimately Green lost their last flag and a game break was called by the admins.
Then the nuke portion was commenced with us having an hour to take the nuke and stop the launch. Repeated efforts were made to get through the tree line to the North of the SCUD launcher, including an ill-fated re-enactment of Picketts’ Charge. L.T. sent a force led by Nex around to the west and another force pushed in along the road to the north west of the launcher. Just as our forces were in position for the final push, time was called, meaning the tactical nuke was launched at Dallas. As I have told others, Fort Worth has other suburbs that are more pleasant to live in than Dallas anyway.
Lunch was called and Dave cooked up some awesome hotdogs and beans. When we returned to the fields, it was America’s turn to defend the flags. Sadly, the Russians felt “outnumbered” (I guess because under L.T.’s leadership we so decisively swept them from the field in the first half) so they did some kind of Commie brainwash trick on our U.S. Army ACU forces, who went over to the Green side.
We abandoned the two out-lying flags and concentrate our forces at the Town. We have Cole and Techt12 holding the tower with a sniper, but my M60 went down and I spent the rest of the game using just an AEP. Plague and his Blood Sucker Brigade comrades were tenacious in leading the Green attack through the town and eventually prevailed. We were able to hold our last flag until the nuke launch started; however, we decided to focus on holding the nuke position and as a secondary effort hold the Trench flag. The Russians and their allies much have decided they needed to occupy the trenches in order to move on the nuke, so they launched a focused attack and were able to clear our defending force and take our final flag.
Green then adopted the flanking eastern approach to the nuke and were successful in pushing our forces back beyond on the second regen point (resulting in a surprise attack on their rear by Tegan and a couple other U.S. Marines). Along with Wraven, Kanga and several others we were able to grab a couple flags with counter-attacks, but not hold them in the end. However, we successfully held off the Green team long enough to prevent them from taking the SCUD with enough time to stop the launch.
In the end, both sides successfully protected their COs; however, Green managed to find their intel box, while we did not locate ours. Tan left the field very impressed with L.T. as a commander – he stayed cool under pressure, led from the front and kept morale high and the tempo fast. No complaints about any of the people I played with or against and no safety issues to report. Also, snipers and support gunners can play a major role on this field, but also don’t forget pistols and grenades for use in the village and trenches. It takes a diverse team approach to win out there.
Dave (txtrench) has put a ton of work into this field and as he said “It has only been open twenty months; in five years, we will have space ships landing.” I believe him. Spetz did a great job creating a balanced scenario and keeping things moving, while still allowing for high-level tactical play at a milsim level. Having people assigned to squads and teams by uniform was excellent, fostering a unit cohesion rarely seen. The uniform standardization also cut down on friendly fire incidents, which I liked. Also the sponsors, mainly Dave’s All Era Militaria and Hobbytown, provided major raffle items, with like eight AEGs and several pistols awarded. A+ on effort and thanks to both of them and their staff for putting on such a great op.
And for the record, Green didn't win; ACU won! Ha.

Had a great time something to add to that last post just one thing that happened to me that I thought was funny, The tan team started overrunning the town the green team retreated me being on the green team I had the stupid idea of staying to defend the commy flag as they advanced I placed myself in a large crate with two openings one facing out and another facing the flag the tan team avanced right past me and I spent about 10 mins shooting passing tan members in the back sadly a lot of them didn't call there hits because they thought it was friendly fire but it was still fun then the game ended and I showed myself supprize

I definitely had a great time. Plenty of fun times to remember! One of the most memorable was returning to the town when we heard the Tan team had infiltrated. I rounded a corner, looked to the next crate, I saw and heard simutaneously Wraven firing his "grenade revolver", it seriously scared the hell outta me! I spun and dove back behind the wall from which I came! It was great to meet everyone that I chat with on here face-to-face. We have a great community! And it looks to just be gettin bigger and better!

The cold American landscape was warming with morning glow as we audited our ammunition, and reviewed our combat capabilities. Personnel, green, ammunition, green, Combat readiness and ability to retaliate? Absolute
We assumed The Americans and their allies would arrive today, to retake the land that was theirs. They wouldn't make it in time . A crackle was heard over the fading power of my radio, "Preparing for launch, Time until Launch is~" . "Ah", I thought, as my cross-hair fell upon a dusted path. "it would not matter, they won't pass this road."
The sun crept to the sky, warming the browned grass. Only one small fragment of the flora was not met with rays to break the packed dirt's chill. A needle in a haystack, the Americans would say, if the needle desired to mock the hay. I was the sickle behind the hammer, the needle in the hay. Comrades crossed my lenses on their diligent overwatches, Until ;
A two meter high target, yielding me and my scope a measurement of about two-hundred meters away, one of our flags descended. It seemed that the American's silenced our brothers rapidly, or no'vone at our northern position was able to relay information. Tens of minutes of embracing our mother earth, and harmony with the soil, and my task of eliminating the capitalist pigs began.
Every round fired by my comrades drew their views ; every moment they spent returning fire, they risked a rapid return home. Alas, as our combat readiness dropped from green to black, we lost ground, and interestingly enough, gained Americans, as I heard, put a sickle to anyone's throat, and they will fight for you, in the end, our missiles , as theirs, lit the sky. It would seem that both Americans, and Russians, demand an eye for an eye.
Definitely a great game, Some of y'all picked me off from pretty dang far away, and even picked up on our idiocy of having three standing snipers in the SAME tower and pinned us good. L.T. definitely had some extreme leadership going (At least that's who I assume i heard hollarin commands from across the field) and we got squashed for a good while there. But you no touch missile, we Russians like missile. Also, shoutin to mortair for the sweet gear.
