You're in luck! The field this forum is associated with is in Temple, just 30 min from you! Welcome,to the community. There are lots of friendly players that are willing to help new players out whether you are on a team, or not. Dave, the owner of the field nd store, is also an excellent resource. Hope to meet you at the field sometime.

Best way to join a team is get out and play, and get asked.

Welcome Blacklight! You should make plans to come on out to the field on November 5th. You will be placed in 5 to 7 man teams that will operate together that day. This will give you a chance to meet some great people, learn the field that is practically next door to you, and maybe hook up with a team. You can rent a nice assault rifle for 10 bucks from Dave, and have a blast! As an added bonus you will get to see the mighty Hillcrest Wave/Swarm in action! Hope to see you there!

maps.google.com/maps?saddr=George....mra=ls&t=h&z=16Stole noe's link. map shows field location. just replace starting point with your house. and DO NOT buy anything till you get to the field. Affordable price = Dave can still sell it cheaper almost always Buying from Dave supports the field and keeps us all playing

Oh no...don't buy that.
You are barely starting...so just take a trip down to the field...look at all the guns and learn a bit more about Airsoft...BEFORE you make a purchase.
That gun will not help you out there on the field...at all.
So save the $60 and come out to the field and learn a couple of things first.

if you want that gun i will give it to you free. it shoots about 50 ft max, all the guns you will be going up against will shoot 200+ feet.
it really is a waste of money. dave

if you're short on money, just rent a gun. $10 for the day, decent gun, and you get to save up for a gun that will always be completely worth it

well i dont think imma make it out there im just gunna save up till im really ready but i will be out there maybe after christmas cause im gunna ask for airsoft stuff then I think you should REALLY REALLY come out on November 5.
This way you can ask questions, get answers, and meet a lot of great people.
Who knows maybe you can find your dream Airsoft replica (gun) here at Dave's....for a very reasonable price.
My vote is that you make it out on Nov 5.

well i dont think imma make it out there im just gunna save up till im really ready but i will be out there maybe after christmas cause im gunna ask for airsoft stuff then Like Nbustarhymes said, come on out and check out the store, you can see what feels good, see a price to start saving for (if I had this chance when I first got into airsoft, would not have ordered the first guns that I did). You can also watch and see different styles of play and different loadouts. This is a really friendly community, and will be happy to answer any questions.

Keep in mind blacklight, you can also coordinate to try someone elses gun out as well to see what a stock and upgraded gun. Caliban, said it already, so I won't beat a dead horse.....or maybe TAKE THAT!. As for looking for a team, it might help to post ; 1. Age 2. Experience 3. Gear 4. Also if you have transportation.
To add onto that, Joining a team is not everything, for the most part I play with 1-2 people constantly. Even though not really a team more of just a ragtag bunch of grownups playing with makeshift bb guns. Even though Neo being the youngest does look more older than he is, and Cali just looks old HAHA. not really but you get the point. Teams can be a hassle most of the time, until Airsoft becomes more "popular" and mainstream in our area. Don't expect much of a hooha. We are few, but many.
Caliban, I think I know why we get along so well.....I've always had a teacher fetish type thing....(JAWS music kicks in) HAHAHA. Except you don't your not asian, with fair skin, with those asian bad teacher type glasses. nor do you look like Camrin Diaz........sadface for poo
