There is a distinct difference between newb and noob.

newbs are new players who are genuinely interested in joining, learning, and building up whatever they are entering

noobs are idiots who try to walk on for day 1 and act like they've been playing for 20 years when they know nothing

i'm sure that about 99.9% of the new guys coming to the field classify as newbs and there is nothing wrong with that. I myself am still a relative newb. Over time, we will all be quality players. Hopefully lol
