Hello to everyone out there. I'm new to the sport of airsoft, would like to try it out and play a game or two, get to know some of the people and have fun. I have a few guns but never used them in a game. Don't know what kind of uniform is best to use or the most preferred. I live in the Gatesville area and don't belong to any team (any teams in the area, or looking for players?). Any advice for a new guy is welcome looking forward to a game. thanks

Welcome to the sport, and the forums! Checkout the schedule for skirmish or work/play days. Don't be shy about just showing up. There are a few teams starting up in the area. Lots of friendly and helpful people. Camo is pretty much a personal preference. The Templars go with Tigerstripe(green). A&M uses MARPAT I believe. Just be sure you've got a good pair of fully sealing goggles. Hopefully we'll see ya on the field soon!

And good boots!!!! On Dave's field you'll really need them. Some real ankle twisting terrain up there. Don't skimp on price either. I bought a pair of $30 Brazos, they were ok, but my feet hurt after each day. Not sure if Dave said he sells boots or not, can't remember. He does have a lot of inexpensive camo though. I'd recommend these, pricey, but I've heard good reports. Also, wander on down south to Kileen and see what the surplus stores have.

Hey Kraut, I'm forming a team up in the copperas cove/ft hood/ harker heights area. Nothing to serious but something we all can come together and shoot out others. What kind of replicas do you currently own? ie; brand and type.
