I recall making a section like this for last year's event at some point...hmm. Anyway, my particular question is on melee weapons.
So, say I were to hypothetically duct-tape a rubber training knife to the head of a guitar, bayonet style. What would this count as? I would assume it would work simply as a knife, as I don't want my guitar (however cheap or beat up) getting hit, but it's worth asking in the event of it being usable as a melee weapon. Come to think of it, even the rubber knife would hurt, let alone the guitar, so I don't think it'll count as an approved foam weapon without any foam of any kind...
Even if I just answered my own question, bayonet-fitted guitar. That is all.

Guys we covered this in the live video a couple weeks ago -- there are 2 VERY important distinctions to make between knife kills and melee combat.
KNIFE KILLS are for SNEAK ATTACKS. Silent kills from the rear or an otherwise unsuspecting opponent. Knife kills with a training knife ignore armor and work like the every day airsoft knife kill. Bayonets are not allowed. You need to have full control of your "knife." The Knife must also be under 18'' in length.
MELEE COMBAT is done face to face or against an active opponent with FOAM weapons. These follow the armor rules concerning anti-melee armor.
Read the guide. If you don't read the guide, you're not going to have a good time. Period.
You cannot learn this game "as you go." You must prepare for it.

I honestly didn't know about that video... I guess I'm off to go watch it.
Oh, I've got a bolt action rifle, but it's a short barrel, and does not have a scope. Will that be counted as a "sniper" rifle then, or just the unrestricted springer?

You must prepare for it. Alrighty. I apologize, I'm not on the ball with the rules, despite having generally read through the rulebook. I most certainly do not intend to "learn as I go." Also, the knife is most definitely less than 18", and has a sheath.

Its a complex game, to be sure. and i didnt mean for it to come off as a personal hitt to you, but as a warning to any reading this who have not been preparing themselves
There will be enough walkons who didnt attempt to prepare...

Just remembered how ammo is provided, but what weight ammo is gonna be provided? EDIT: Found my own answer with a bit of looking. In case anyone is wondering, this is from facebook: Geddon Matthew Pennebaker Trade for them the way you would trade for a diffferent caliber bullet in the real world
Geddon Matthew Pennebaker .25s .28s and .32s will ne out there Also, my friend has a gas mask, but we aren't sure if he'd be allowed to use it as face protection. He'd probably also want to switch to something else during the game because of sweat inside, but I'm unsure if he'd be allowed to switch in the middle of the day, when guns are still hot. What should I tell him?

What should I tell him? Your face/ear protection can be made of anything so long as it covers everything. Some people use Shemaghs, some people use balaclavas, bandanas, wire masks, etc. If he's under 18 he must wear this protective gear at all times. if he's over 18, he needs to at least possess it at all times, and be prepared to don it on field without disrupting his eye protection.
