Prepay done. Really looking forward to this op. I am trying to get some of the other local players to caravan up for this one. I have my team going but I am trying to get some of the Texas A&M team to go as well.

If I'm going to be paying at the gate because I'm not sure if I'll be able to show up, what uniform should I be in? I have ACU, Desert and Woodland, green pants/jacket, and civies.

So... Are teams also gear specific? Cause I usually wear ACU but my favorite gun to use is an AK74.

Are you going to expand the ACU slots? Most of my team is out of area on the winter break from college and will be paying later or at the gate.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I'm on the Russian team and I've got an AK-47, but it's performance is not what I prefer, so I'll probably use my FN-FAL (I suppose if you squint your eyes, one can pretend it's an SVD! ) with my new XM-607 as a back up gun. (I'm going to test it at the skrmish this weekend. It's shooting about 380 fps, but I'm curious about it's range and accuracy given the very short barrel) My bigger issue is the required uniform, since Dave clarified that he wants the Russian teams to wear M81 woodland rather than the more usual "any green based camo" which is the unifrom requirement standard at many if not most OPS. Given my rapid weight loss right now (I'm down 38 pounds in the last five weeks if it matters), I'm reluctant to spend any money on a new set of BDUs that I may not be able to wear in a couple of months. (especially given the cash I've had to drop to get my kit back in working order when I became active in the hobby again last month and the fact that used BDUs in my size do not exist and new sets can be expensive.) Yes, yes, I'm probably the only airsofter out there who does not own a set of M81s. A good case could be made that the patterns I normally airsoft in right now (tiger stripe and WW2 "Oakleaf") are closer to the camo patterns used by modern Russian forces than M81 Woodland( camopedia.org/index.php?title=Russia) ....but that's a whole other debate. So as it stands right now, I might have to be swapped to another team if the ruling stands. But we'll see. TR

I think this is because Dave is positioning this op as more of a "Milsim" Op which all Milsim ops require very specific camo, ammo and magazine rules with units/squads and command structures. Milsim Ops are very task/mission/objective orientated.

Milsim Ops are very task/mission/objective orientated. I'm familiar with the term/concept. Thanks. I've been playing for a while and have attented a fair number of OPS in the past. (including several others billed as "milsim") Even at an OP classed as such the uniform requirements are still usually the typical "green/tan" variety to allow greater turn out. It's not 100% of course, but it's a typical convention. No worries. It will work out one way or another. TR

I suggest the Raggedy Andy loadout for this OP. For the "airborne" troops might I suggest the ever popular Hello Kitty Helmet. Anyhoo, I don't think Dave is going to be as strict and anal about uniforms and head gear as they were at say, RDGX. But it's safe to say that in the back of his mind when coming up with this op, "Hey I got a lot of this stuff for sale at the store." Safe bet that you could wander around the store and see what he has and see what you have that compares to it.

Trenchraider:
I agree with you on most Ops doing all green vs. all tan, but after Op: Shattered Skies, I have to say that the designated camo for particular squads worked really well in keeping groups together and on task. It made it much easier for the commanders to assign missions and for the squad leaders to keep their people together.
I'm also with you on the weight loss and being in between uniform sizes, having lost about 30 lbs in the last few months and now hovering between medium and large sizes. Let Dave know and he will cut you a deal on whatever surplus camo he has - he is very reasonable. For example, if your battery dies or your gun goes down, he will loan you one if he can.

Sonjamichelle- I've got a set of red "urban camo" that I used to play paintball in. www.vtarmynavy.com/red-camo-bdu-pants.htm How about that look instead? Dave- I'll poke around down here and see if I can pick up a woodland blouse. In any event, I'll chat with you at the skirmish on Saturday. TR
