Not listed, but for me it's distance. If I was in the Hood/Temple area I'd be there quite a bit.
The field has a lot of potential and keeps getting better. The fact that there is a lack of shade may be keeping people away during these hot months. The summer months are usually slow in these parts just as winter is the slow season up in the Northeast. A GP-Large with some fans may help out in that respect.
One suggestion is a few less "themed" skirmishes and just more generic bb slinging open skirmishing. Most folks on the field have modern day loadouts and weapons. There is a minority of folks who go with period uniforms and weapons.
In two years I've learned that airsofters tend to be a fickle sort. I see posts on several forums with guys "getting out, selling my stuff" threads cropping up. And a few weeks later those same folks are no longer "getting out".
The field is young and still developing, I'm sure as you build it up, implement many of the ideas and features you mentioned on our drive through you'll begin to see more folks. The field being one large field with many themed sections makes it a good field for larger operations supporting larger groups of players. More events along the lines of what the TAMASO folks have put on should be your field's strong point.

thanks Sonja and poo I'm just getting a base line for a 12 month cycle.
you are not kidding about airsofters being scatterbrained. just think about "air soft time" and sitting back and not playing any more and still posting about it etc...
I'm going to allow more camping and more bang for your buck type of stuff, but i need players to at least attempt to cover the cost. the next big project should be at the start of the year with a brick and mortar store, armory, and workshop.
my only fear right now is the economy and people getting out of airsoft for that reason. the problem is that airsoft is one of the cheapest leisure activities out there, and if people cant afford airsoft anymore than that does not say much for the overall economy.

My reason is same as Sonja's. I'm currently next to Corpus Christi and will probly be transfering to the school here too this next year. TAMASO is having its yearly officer change so they may or may not be able to host any OPs soon. Lots of stuff is going on this fall.

Well I just got back from vacation and am getting ready for the school year. Plus as Sonja said, there's a big difference between period-era airsofters and modern guys/girls. The lack of period correct events, and getting more into western blank fire reenacting is more of my situation.

that seems to be common, I'm not coming due to there not being others that do historical events. problem is that there are about 20 people saying the same thing at the same time. people from north TX, Austin, SA, all saying the same thing and complaining about not playing. so i plan it out, have all the gear, and people hem and haw. the place is here, the gear is here, so whats the problem?
