I'm Sonja and I'm an airsoft addict (my son started it!)
As I said, my son got me started in airsoft about two years ago. I kept finding all these blasted green pellets around the house, never knowing what they were and just threw them out. One day I was at the PC and saw print-outs for some guns. Curious as to what he was up to, I did a bit of my own research. NOW I knew what them damned green things were!
It peaked my interest, found LSA, went to Academy bought a couple of AEPs and took him to his first skirmish. After hearing how out gunned he was and seeing what the other folks were fielding we went back to Academy and got his first "AEG". Two weeks and 4 "AEGs" later I bought my first AEG from a guy at the field (Tokyo Marui MP5 SD). Once my knee was good to go again I got into the action too. It was pretty damn fun, especially having the opportunity to shoot at my wise crackin' son! I find airsoft a great exercise and cool stress relief. It certainly beats sitting in a recliner playing video game battles. You get to meet a lot of new and interesting folks and shoot them too!
We did a short 8 month stint in Connecticut, got to skirmish with those folks up there on a dedicated 50 acre field with some major terrain features and 2 feet of snow. Decided we were homesick and came back to Texas.
I'm the lone wildcard, not associated with any teams (some say cuz I'm not a team player *shrug*). I'm not a CO type, but I do make a good XO. I have 6 years of military experience, 15 years of EMS and Fire experience with a 10 year side stint as an IT geek. (Ex made me do it for the money). Yeah yeah, I'm old.
My primary is my new Classic Army M4A4 and my secondary is an HFC M166 USP. Back ups as listed in my sig. My primary field is Texas Paintball (cheap and close) and you'll find me there on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Kookaburra being a bit far for me will be a secondary home, especially for the weird and interesting OPs. You'll find me there when I get a wild hair for a road trip. ;D
I enjoy the realism and MilSim of of Airsoft and the relatively low operating costs. $15 for 5000 rounds vs $80 for 1/3 of the amount of paintballs. An no mess to clean up either. No Shrek jizz to contend with in my barrels.
See y'all on the field o' battle. I'm the one with the teddy bear on my plate carrier.
Oh yeah, since Dave will probably nudge me about it:
My partner and I run Hill Country Tactical, if you can't find something in Dave's stock give us a gander.
