OPERATION SILVER MONGOOSE I. SITUATION: The National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) whose supporters are commonly called "Red Shirts", angry over the seizure of assets belonging to its main supporter, Thaksin Shinawatra, and the “shooting while attempting to escape” of various leaders who had turned themselves in following riots in May 2010 retreated to its heartland, the city of Chiang Mai. There the political pressure group turns violent staging car bombings, kidnappings, and executions directed against the government and western businesses. The UDD claims that Abhisit Vejjajiva's government took power 'illegitimately', backed by the Thai Army and the judiciary. It calls for the Thai Parliament to be dissolved so that a general re-election can be held. They accuse the country's elite — the military, judiciary, certain members of the Privy Council, and other unelected officials — of undermining democracy by interfering in politics . Ambassador Trugood Forthright attempts to broker a peace conference to calm rising violence. However upon his arrival at the city of Chiang Mai his security detail is massacred and he is held hostage as a bargaining chip to force Western Pressure on Vejjaajiva’s government to call for open elections and restoration of the 1997 Constitution. The Thai army is wracked by internal dissent with companies nd regiments providing illict aid and outright mutiny in support of the “Men in Black” the military wing of the UDD. Unable to suppress the internal revolution the Thai government turns to USA and its allies. TF Anteater is quickly forms consisting of 1st Australian SAS Regiment, One regiment from 2606th Marine Expeditionary Unit and One Battalion from 173rd Airborne. The UDD operate in 3 to 5 man cells armed with light weapons up to Light Machine guns. The cells and renegade units can mass into 30 to 40 man elements to seize key points of infrastructure, conduct large scale ambushes, and to protect key personnel and terrain. II. MISSION: Mission is in four phases; Phase I: Seizure of Paimat Airbase; The TF will insert via helo cast into the Ping River, infilitrate into the airport and seize the area. Overhead imagery shows the UDD has constructed a trench network overwatching the main airfield. After securing the area TF will airland follow on forces for Phase II. PHASE II: TF elements seize control of blocking positions surrounding city of Chian Mai in preparation for assault into Chaing Mai. PHASE III: TF assaults into Chang Mai, rescues Ambassador Trugood Forthright and moves his personage either to capital city of Bangkok or out of country via Piamat Airbase. COORDINATING INSTRUCTIONS: Uniforms: TF Anteater personnel will wear ACUs, MULTICAM, AUSSIE CAMO. UDD personnel will wear Tiger Stripes, Woodland BDUs, civilian gear. a. All ROE is in effect according to Temple Airsoft Battlefield rules and will be briefed before the start of the operation. b. Commo is allowed as is jamming, pirating or otherwise disrupting enemy communication networks. c. Operational Map To be published
