There are a few different story lines we could go with for this theme: (and forgive any spelling mistakes I'm just spelling em like I say em.) Humans vs. Jafa Humans vs. Geni Humans vs. Wraith
Humans vs. Jafa: This scenario would be the best to do however is still very difficult to achieve realism to the show. The Jafa pretty much wear plate mail armor and fire bolts of energy on semi-auto. So for this team we could go as far as to say they wear only black or grey uniforms and keep their weapons on semi-only. Then we'd have to give them a huge numerical advantage as well. This would be difficult to recruit for a team that dissadvantaged and hated. Because everyone wants to be SG-1. So to make it work we'd probably make the Jafa tan, have larger teams and unrestricted to weapons, while SG teams are green with unrestricted weapons. It won't be realistic but would work. Story: Human team arrives on world found to have strong Jafa presence and a local population that is enslaved. The humans arrive because there are ancient ruins found by UAV that the Jafa have yet to find. SG 2 and 3 are sent to retrieve what data they can from these ruins and be on the lookout for more ancient artifacts. SG teams 12 and 16 are in charge of holding the Stargate and keeping the Jafa off SG2 and SG3's back. SG1 will infiltrate the G'ould mothership in orbit and keep the fleet and gliders from interfering in the battle on the planet below. The local population was already in the works of planning a rebellion against the Jafa. They decide to prematurely start the attack when the SG teams arrive and begin causing trouble. The Jafa recently were put under command of a new G'ould who is quite ruthless. He has been ordered to quell whatever rebellion begins and to find whatever the SG teams are looking for first and take it for himself. His fleet has been sabatoged by SG1. so all he has is foot soldiers at his command.
Humans vs. Geni: The Geni are another human race in the Pegasus galaxy that are hostile to the SG teams in Atlantis. They wear grey uniforms and have weapons characteristic to our own in world war 2. It would be pretty easy to make this team realistic as long as they wore grey or dark colored camo and we could keep them the same size as the SG teams as well. I'm not that familiar with their story line though so I will let someone else write a story for this scenario.
Humans vs. Wraith: This would be a lot more on the fantasy side as the wraith are aliens that pretty much suck the life out of humans. They are super strong and can take multiple hits without going down or even being blown back. I don't think this scenario would be very do-able unless we had a really really dedicated group of players.
Feel free to pick apart or change anything to my ideas. I'm just spitting this out as I go.

I like the SG vs the Genii idea the best. Gives the best opportunity for folks to use their own AEGs/Pistols without special rules. It basically comes down to separating teams by camo color.

Man, I guess i'm the only one who was never a Stargate fan.
I think a Firefly op would be pretty cool. Sort of the classic Govt. forces vs. freedom fighters bit, but with brown coats.
And what about Battlestar Galactica? We could have one team as the humans... and... and... um...
I've got it! The Cylons would wrap themselves in TINFOIL!

Alright! More Stargate fans!! A couple of ideas for the Wraith vs Human game:
1. Since the Wraith were really after the coordinates to Earth in the final seasons have objectives for them that would include; locating something/someone with the coordinates; getting to a certain location( this would represent a gate to get to Earth); set up and protect a beacon for a set amount of time.
2. An optional game play element to simulate Wraith and Humans; since the Wraith use stun weapons, when the humans are hit they are just stunned for a certain amount of time, in that amount of time an allie could "drag" them to safety until they "unfreeze", or a Wraith could take them, and then they'd have to go respawn.

OH crap! No, wait, this is PERFECT! We'll just be the 'evil humans' with machine guns and giant mech suits! Heh heh heh. That was a lot of fun. Machine gun > bow and arrow.

Here is a simple game for a Humans vs Genii game:
An SG team from Atlantis has set up a small listening outpost outside of a Genii conquered village to try and figure out why the Genii attacked a defenseless population on a planet of no significant value. The listening post called back to Atlantis saying that they had been compromised but they had a lead on what the Genii were up to so they were going to go mobile to avoid confrontation. They requested back up in case their suspicions were correct about the Genii. When back up arrives in the form of several SG teams, the scout team is no where to be found and they cannot be raised on radio. The SG teams must find the listening post and find out where the scout team has gone while fending off patrols of Genii. The Genii on the other hand are patrolling the area in order to defend their new territory because they know that the only reason this planet is worth keeping is because it used to be an Ancient Colony and could still hold great secrets yet to be discovered....
Eh, story could use some touch up, but I've got a gameplay plan and it actually works out quite nicely.

I know I'm late to weigh in on this, but I just joined the board.
You might consider a Starship Troopers scenario (the movie version, no relation to the book of the same name)
Is there some way to dial down the weapons to 10 fps and a max range of 8 feet?

I think many people will not go fo that, reason being it requires mechbox mods.

Is there some way to dial down the weapons to 10 fps and a max range of 8 feet? Lol, why not just throw the BB's at the other players. No need to shoot them that slow. Also I could throw a hand full of 0.12g at a time. That would be about 10fps and (oddly enough considering my lack of upperbody strengh) 8ft. LOL!!! Now all we need is to practice M.I. tactics as demonstrated in the movie ... specifically, the cluster and the gaggle.
