i like the 2+ day milsim proposal. have had a hankering for one for-like-ever!
and speaking of which, i'd like to come up with an epic milsim myself...one that could include 4-man sniper & SF teams, recon units, IED lanes, simulated civilian interaction, etc. there'd be the usual main assault teams, defense/security, HVTs and such. however, OPORDs and objectives would be much more specific to each team on each opposing force, big or small. thus, objectives are much clearer, more defined, and with possible secondary objectives. i really believe this could become the best milsim yet!
long story short: i'm talkin' FULL SPECTRUM OPS, ladies and gents.
ideas ideas ideas....throw 'em at me.
love,
LT

I really like the idea, I think 2 days would be enough though, I doubt most people would be able to do 3. Plus stress would get high after 2. Dave isn't so hot on "IED's" being there, so we'd have to figure that out. Something could be done for that though.
Ideas from me: Hostage rescue on time basis- "executed" after a certain amount of time unless rescued a lone wolf escape to friendly lines "steal" a vehicle for your team from enemy motor pool "assassinate" HVT behind enemy lines plant bomb on enemy building/fuel tanks (NOT A REAL BOMB) if we can find an air compressor and the pvc parts we can build a mortar for nerf footballs steal the enemy files find the secret weapon stashed by rebel scientists. 3 teams: Green, Tan, Civvies (can give out missions, when accomplished, will help that team with one mission in return)

i have no problem with IEDs, i have a problem with people not knowing the laws and making them and transporting them and unknowingly breaking the law. we can use them if they are done right.
3 days as long as the first is used as a non shooting recon / build day (no shooting=no goggles)

let me clarify. "mock" IEDs, similar to IED lanes in training scenarios. Nothing would go "boom", "bang", "snap", or "pop". Simply objects to look IED suspicious, nothing more. a game officiator would monitor from the distance, and make the call if it went off or not, depending upon if a team is aware and responds appropriately. examples: -stuffed toy w/a wire sticking out of it -tricycle in the middle of the road...with a wire sticking out of it. -wire or cord going across the road and behind a rock -object in the road or behind a building looks suspiciously like a bouncing betty or a 105 arty round (made of...like...pcp tubing, paper cone, and spray-painted green ) -...blah blah blah... upon discovery, teams could send up a UXO report to command, mark it/set security and wait for a UXO team...or frickin' go around it but LOVING Xulo's ideas!......

Cool, one idea I had for my operation was the the asian union downed in the trenches (which is where the chinese operate out of) and NATO has to retrive the contents of the plane and three hostages.

Legal "traps/fake IEDs" could be created that would make noise without any issues arising or injury. If that gets ok'd by Dave, I can make it happen.

I work on the real stuff for a living. And Dave does movie props, so we'll be alright.

Btw i think bigsexyjoe and xylophone put out some excellent ideas already. So I'm gonna put up a poll for votes that should get the ball rolling.

Why don't we also have a meeting at the field and pick out the ideas we want to throw in as well. This way we can implement more than a couple ideas. PLUS meetings make you feel important or something like that.

I like the idea for this OP, I won't be able to make the meeting or this Saturdays skirmish, but I might make the following weeks if things go well. I will likely be out for a good part of March though.

dont worry about meeting up anymore. schedules conflicted and weather really messed things up. just keep coming up with ideas, and refining the ones already out there. sounds like this is really gonna roll, so stick to your guns and present your ideas to dave and players next time you're at the field. if your there tomorrow, try something out! elimination and CTF get pretty old after a while, so these new milsim ideas should work great with skirmish weekends as well. i'll personally be there next saturday, whether i'm playing, officiating, or instructing.
