"Airfield"

This is a project that I've had in mind for a while, and I would happily put in a few man hours to see this happen. EDIT: A LOT of man hours.

So, Dave, how far fetched would it be to build a mock, (Or real, if someone is crazy enough to willingly land their plane at the field),
airstrip at either:

A) The edge of the town
B) Far edge of trenches

I think an airfield would make some pretty interesting objective-based missions, like "seize the airfield" or "escort the convoy to the airfield."

For practicality at the edge of the town, if a control tower were build to accompany the airfield, this could make for some interesting long distance engagements from the two-story control tower at the field, and the tower in the center of the town.

For practicality at the edge of the trenches, it would be a pretty great area for someone to take the two-story control tower to have overwatch over the entire trench area. Also, we can have a longer "escort the convoy to the airfield" mission

We could even have a replica (or real, disabled cessna like the one in the trenches) aircraft on the field as a prop.

As for construction of the airfield, I think just clearing the land for a short strip would suffice, I think laying pavement would be a tad bit expensive.

So, we should be looking at 2 containers, converting one to two stories, land clearing, and (optional) aircraft.

Thoughts? Opinions? Too pricey?

ummmm i dont know how o answer that one.

but allready have a airstrip planned, have a C-47 in the works to be donated to the field from a FD. but you are looking at the wrong field.

Are you planning an airstrip at the area beyond the trenches? Or is it another different locale entirely?
