I believe (correct me if im wrong dave) the field opens at 8 or 9. As an airsoft player I recommend taking your son and possibly his friends to play at a professional field.

Usually this time of year the field gates open at 9 and games start at 10-ish, but I'm just double checking, since Reforger gates opened at 8, but probably because that was a special, large scale game.

temple airsoft (Kookabura) 1/28/12

First, I want to say...I looked for any information about this field before going and couldn't find much of anything on here! So.. maybe this will help future players if they find themselves headed in the Northern direction.

Location: 'Kookabura'? field is quite a distance (65~ miles), but some of my team lives in Temple so it works out really well for us as we are just forming and figuring out a routine/schedule.

Size: This place was huge!! Big enough that if you are feeling lazy you could practically drive to get to different sections of the field.

Schedule: We didn't start right on the dot (I think it was 10:05?), but we started early enough that I didn't notice a big delay or waiting around all morning. I "get my sh*t together" the night before: Mags loaded, batteries charged, pistol gassed up. We had a very well planned lunch break and fit in good game after good game throughout the day.

Weather: I happened to go on a perfectly sunny day, but I will admit this field seems to have slightly more wind than other fields I've been at. I won't complain much since I got a kill with a curve ball.

Shop: !! This is very handy. Actual airsoft stuff! Plenty of parts and surplus gear for sale. Lot's of guns, too. I have everything I need right now, so I didn't need to buy anything, but it was nice knowing that there was a resource if equipment broke down - a situation that has ruined several of my days in the past.

Staff: This is run by a guy who just goes by "Dave". He was polite, made sure everyone was safe, and even loaned out some backup gear to noobs who forgot the 6 Ps. I have to say it was nice having someone there to make sure things were organized much like we have had at TXPB!

It was a good day.

really i dont care, i dont ask or pay or anything to people who post on that forum. people do it on there own and then get a little or a lot pissed at the attitude there and quit going there and come here for the community.

fact is the more that they pull the threads down and talk negitive about the field and players the more positive traffic shows up here.
