How About A Night OP? Now, I've heard there are problems with doing night operations, like NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE AT ALL, but I figured I'd bring it up. What are your guys' opinions on a Night Skirmish?

As you already stated, to many problems. Not seeing, safety hazards, the boogie man, and it would be past my bedtime.

I Don't know, I'd LIKE to think it wouldn't be too different from all the times me and my scout troop would play capture the flag in the dark, but obviously there would be more people on this field plus guns. If at all possible, we would have to have a smaller player limit, and strict age limit.

That would be fun to at least try. If we shedule it for near a full moon, clear weather it shouldn't be too bad. But like Shiggy said, keep numbers low, and probably a small area. Like JUST the village, or between 2 close fire bases. They have these nifty LED lightsticks at Target and Academy. They come in red, green, and blue. they'd make great dead signals.

With bright lights in the dark, that just makes the medics job easier. But we'd have to make sure that people had a way to keep them from being seen until they're dead. Basically just keeping the light from getting out at all.

My first thought about pockets though is that they might fall out... then again, if they drop it, it would be an easy find.... Disregard!

That's what the button/velcro flaps are for.

I'm just not thinking right haha. But yeah, with it being night and all, we could actually make things more tactical, like sneaking around camps and such.

Basically just keeping the light from getting out at all. They turn on/off/strobe for the color stick part. Then there is a reagular flashlight at the end. The whole thing is just like 5" long. I forgot what kind of attachments it has for sure, but I think it was a laynard.

Ok we could go specific colors for dead and objectives and obstacles (barb wire!). BTW pockets don't exactly block the light shining through (incident involving a BDE commander at NTC LFX sends shivers through me). I can probably get chem lights from supply and limited number of NVGs (PVS-7Bs), less than 10.

Honestly that was a great time to start, the heat wasn't directly over head. Still got alot of shooting done. Great games, again the weather was a big factor. espically with the sun setting. Even though it wasn't night, i had a blast.

I 2nd that Kraut, that was a perfect time to start. It was cooling down, wasn't to hot. 1100-1400 is IMO the worst time to be outside. I think it just drains everyone. But it was a great day, 5v5 very fun. Also we all learned that snipers/long range DMR is OP on a the trench field.

not being able to see is fixable, we did one once where everyone either HAD to have a flashlight or the glow-in-the-dark pellets with tracer unit.
